How much difference could this wall plate and outlet make? Well, a huge difference to be honest. This combination, in conjunction with Stillpoints ERS (see tip below) will make a significant improvement in overall smoothness, quietness, and those characteristics that make music so emotionally involving. Really.

The Oyaide WPC-Z comes with a Solid aluminum mounting plate, and a carbon fiber faceplate. If you have ever replaced a wall outlet, this is a snap. If not, call an electrician.

I wasn't expecting much from this, I had ordered one from Lotus Group (the Oyaide distributor in the US) at Paul Cohen's suggestion. I wanted to audition it in my own system before making any type of recommendation, or selling it. My first thoughts were that it looked nice, and had that audiophile jewelry quality to it. But really how much could it improve things? I was shocked. I have to say that it was like upgrading the power cords to my whole system. Mind you, this outlet feeds my power conditioner (an Audience aR1P) before feeding any other components. It affected everything, making the music really gel together.

TIP: Cut a sheet of Stillpoints ERS to size using the carbon fiber faceplate as a template. Slide it behind the faceplate during mounting. The ERS, in conjunction with the aluminum and carbon fiber provides superb EMI/RFI absorption and rejection.

You can purchase just the wall plate if you like, adding your own favorite receptacle. I haven't tried the plate with any other outlet, but I am sure it will improve anything you are using currently.
