If you have been at this for a few years, you may remember the paper that Mike Vans Evers made available about the sonic effect provided by using a wide variety of natural woods.
The use of Ebony has long been admired in tweeking as it seems to bring a more natural, organic sound when used as a footer placed under components. This same benefit is provided by this product.
I have used this to great effect on a wide variety of power cords and on each, I have noted the same positive benefit; music takes on a more organic sense. You hear more wood in reeds, more metal in brass and cymbals.
These are excellent as they also allow you to adjust the tension of the contact between the ebony and your ac cord connector. This adjustment seems to slightly alter the sound (much akin to the variance in the sound due to the tension provided by a locking interconnect.)
A great inexpensive tweek.
