Spectron's Premiere amplifiers are 500W (at 8 ohms) per channel audio power amplifier for home theater providing audiophile sound quality. The Premiere uses the same amplifier modules as the Musician III., the winner of mutliple awards.
The optional Signature Upgrade ($250/channel) provides fidelity of representation of timbral texture comparable to that of the best tube amplifiers and can be installed in two front or any other number of channels. This upgrade, involving extensive rebuilding of the reconstruction filter (the most important component in any class D amplifier), allows the true "live performance" experience to the most discerning listener ... or viewer.
Spectron's remote sense speaker cables ($595 per pair retail) offer sonic improvement conventional speaker cables cannot. Remote sense cables allow the speaker wires to be included in the amplifier's feedback loop. This cable has two pairs of wires, the first pair is the conventional connection to the speaker. The second pair is the sense pair. The sense pair senses the output of the amplifier at the speaker, not at the output of the amplfier, this corrects for losses and distortions in the speaker cable. (See the Remote Sense cable sheet for more details.). Each channel has both RCA and XLR outputs. Also, each channel has both binding post and Neutrik Speakon® outputs with the circuitry installed to allow use of Spectron's exclusive remote sense cables.
The Premiere is basically two 3 channel amplifiers in one box. There are two large power supplies (Two 2200 VA transformers), each supplying 3 channels. Two power cords are required to supply the necessary current during loud passages. While the Premiere can deliver over 3,000 watts of power, it will always draw much less power from the wall than a conventional amplifier.
