Introducing the newest member to the BPT family of exceptional power isolation products. The BP-10.5 is our latest assault on crushing the AC power line problems that ravage the performance of your audio/video systems.Using our highly praised LoNo (Low Noise) transformer technology to provide an ultra clean, ultra low noise power source with low in-rush current and whisper quiet performance, another performance first is established with this breakthrough product that will transform your listening experience to pure musical delight.
Much has been written by audio reviewers and discussed on audio forums about the benefits of a dedicated AC circuit for high-end systems. A dedicated AC circuit is wired direct from the AC panel to the audio/video system with no additional outlets wired in series or parallel that might have household appliances plugged-in and adding noise directly to this AC line. While this separate circuit still contains the overall dirty noise from the AC mains, it lacks the local noise generated by household appliances. The consensus report is improvements in sound-staging, retrieval of inner-detail and dynamic contrast all resulting from less noise on the AC line. By using our high quality symmetrically balanced isolation transformers BPT products actually create a dedicated AC power line for your audio/video system that is not subject to the local noise generated by household appliances. Clearly our products give any piece of electronics plugged into its output, a performance advantage.
Can we take this performance advantage to an even higher level? You bet. Each piece of equipment in your A/V system also produces power line noise that gets dumped back into the AC line and passed on to the other gear in your system. This can be reduced by adding a noise filter on each outlet (for each individual piece of equipment) but cannot be eliminated without complete isolation. One way to achieve isolation is to wire a dedicated AC circuit for each piece of electronics in your system. While this approach is way over the top in practicality--it would work. Another way to achieve this (as a few dedicated audiophiles have discovered), is to use an individual BPT isolation unit for each piece of gear in their system. The results are absolutely stunning--though not inexpensive. The challenge for BPT was to create a product that could put this ultra high level of performance within reach of most A/V hobbyists---introducing the BP-10.5.
The BP-10.5 is designed with the same high quality, ultra rugged construction as our other BP isolators. It is rated for a continuous 10 amp output with dynamic peaks of 20+ amps available. This 60 pound behemoth has serious dynamic headroom. The unique output of the BP-10.5 is where it excels over all other models. While most balanced power units provide one isolated balanced 120V output circuit (with multiple outlets wired to that circuit), the BP-10.5 outputs five individual symmetrically balanced isolated circuits. That's right--the BP-10.5 actually has 10 matched 60V outputs that are wired into 5 perfectly balanced 120V pairs. Matched pairs have individual Faraday shields as does the input for a total of five electrostatic shields to guarantee the best isolation possible even at high frequencies. Each output circuit is wired to its own high quality ground fault protected duplex outlets. No other balanced power product or any power conditioner for that matter can claim to output five perfectly isolated AC circuits. Congratulations, you have just installed 5 dedicated AC circuits for your A/V system.
The advantages are clear. Now, your digital gear can be completely isolated from the analog gear. Not just filtered---but completely isolated. High frequency noise generated by digital circuits can no longer intrude via the AC line. The pervasive digital nasties will cease to impose their fingerprint on precious melodies. The even more insidious power line noise created by the constantly changing speed of your CD/DVD/SACD transport motor can now be stopped dead in its tracks. Motors are a notorious sources of power line noise and your transport is no exception. This leads to another source of motor generated noise--the turntable. While they don't vary in speed changes as much as digital disc transport motors and are generally of higher quality, turntable motors are much larger in size, drawing more AC current and causing the same power line problems. Another source of power line pollution--switch-mode power supplies are increasing rapidly in popularity for A/V equipment due to cost advantages. While this is good for the manufacturers it has its down side for overall system performance. These power supplies are flat out noisy and add gobs of high frequency hash to the AC line. The more equipment you use with these types of power supplies--the more noise on the line. Isolating these electronics with a BP-10.5 allows your system to perform to its full potential raising the performance of you’re A/V system to the highest level possible.
