The Episode is perfect for those with low to moderately powered amplifiers. The stable impedance makes them easy to drive, and the 91dB efficiency helps to keep your amplifiers happy. The addition of the Murata super tweeter gives instruments and vocals a deeper harmonic tone and lends more air to the presentation without adding any harshness whatsoever. Ideal for smaller and moderately sized rooms.
Directly Coupled Midrange
A two way design utilizing Reference 3A's own directly coupled (no crossover) hyper exponential 8" (20 cm.) woven carbon-fiber main driver, superb 1" (24mm.) soft textile dome tweeter and a gold coated fine ceramic super high frequency exciter from Murata.
The front baffle is tilted back at a critical angle and the drivers are positioned precisely for correct time alignment and sound wave propagation.
Cabinet panels are constructed with varying thicknesses of 1½" (39mm. to 1" (25 mm.) to drastically reduce resonances.
Highest quality components with very advanced technologies are used for enhanced refinement (Bybee Quantum Purifiers, Mundorf silver capacitors, Murata super tweeters and AVM fluid, Van den Hul wires, etc…).
Higher efficiency and very easy impedance loads provide compatibility with virtually any amplifier.
Bybee Quantum Purifiers
4 standard Bybee Quantum Purifiers are incorporated in each speaker at no charge. They are incorporated in such a way that the incoming signal passes through the Purifiers before the drivers. They remove a type of noise that Jack Bybee calls 1/f (1 over "f"). The result of the Bybee's noise removal is a more spacious soundstage, more natural musical decays, better harmonic layering, and being able to hear the acoustic space of the performance much better.
Upgrade to Super Effect Bybee Purifiers!
Tweek Geek is also offering an upgrade to the standard Bybee purifiers included on the stock speakers. Replace some or all of the standard Bybee's with Bybee Super Effect Purifiers. They are the same exact Purifiers used in the award winning Bybee Speaker Bullets. Our Level I upgrade places a Super Effect Purifier on each positive terminal of each set of binding posts (internally of course), and a standard Bybee Purifier internally on each negative binding post. That is a total of 2 Super Effect Bybees and 2 Standard Bybees. The Level II upgrade replaces all four standard Bybee Purifiers with the Bybee Super Effect Purifiers.
The Super Effect Purifiers are an exponential leap in performance over the Standard Bybees. In addition to improved soundstage and air, transient speed, macro and micro dynamics and bass performance. the music simply has a relaxed, organic flow that sounds more like music.
