Bybee Super Effect Modifications and Upgrades - Available only at Tweek Geek
Let Tweek Geek upgrade your components with Bybee's latest technology Tweek Geek has been granted exclusive rights to install Bybee "Super Effect" purifiers on amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD players, DACs and more. The same purifiers that are used in the latest generation of Bybee adapters is now available to be installed directly into your components. No extra terminations and connectors means a cleaner, shorter path for the AC or signal to travel through. Allowing you to extract even more performance out of the Super Effect Purifiers. We are currently performing this service on components and small monitor speakers only.
Bybee SE on AC The simplest Bybee SE AC modification is to primary power: We place the SE Bybees between the AC input -- typically an IEC socket -- and the transformer input. We install an SE purifier on both the hot and the neutral leg.
The amount of voltage passing through a purifier is inconsequential. More important is the amount of current. The SE purifiers are rated for 15 A. These ratings reflect the capcity of the leads.
An even more effective AC treatment is to secondary power: Place SE purifiers between the transformer and the rectification diodes. The number of purifiers required may vary according to the circuit design of the component. One SE Bybee should be used for each transformer tap in use.
Bybee SE on audio, video, and digital For optimum performance improvement with RCA jacks, we connect an SE purifier at as close as physically possible to the positive terminal of the jack, and a second purifier on the return leg. Treating only the positive leg will also enhance performance, but to a lesser degree. For XLR balanced input jacks, both hot and neutral must be treated. For XLR output jacks, best results will come from additionally treating the ground -- although here too, the purifier for the ground may be omitted, with some lessening of the performance improvement.
The best results come from treating inputs and outputs. However, if that approach is too expensive, excellent results can still be achieved. As a rule, placing the purifiers at inputs is slightly more effective than putting them on outputs.Input modifications are placed after the selector switch, so that the input signals from all source components get the benefit. In addition to the standard modifications described above, there are other locations that can be modified to further improve performance. Tweek Geek can provide consultation on these other performance-enhancing modifications if a schematic for the circuit is available.
Note: Treating secondary power is NOT recommended for designs utilizing tube rectification. In such cases it is preferable to modify the primary AC input.
Bybee SE on Loudspeakers We place the Super Efffect Bybees on the + and - terminals of each driver. This is the optimum placement as it places the purifer at the very end of the signal chain. The results are spectacular. We currently only offer this modification to smaller monitor speakers.
Preamps Install SE Bybees on the incoming AC, The inputs, and the main outputs
Phono stages Install SE Bybees on the incoming AC, and/or the main outputs
Amplifiers Install SE Bybees on the primary AC, or after the transformer, in front of the diode bridge.
CD Players/Transports Install SE Bybees on the incoming AC, the digital output, and/or the main outputs
DAC's Install SE Bybees on the incoming AC, and/or the main outputs
Additional mods available While we have your component on the bench, our technician can perform further modifications as well. This is done on a case by case basis.
Pricing SE Bybees are $1000 each, installed. Additional modifications are extra.
