Since 1982, Ying Tai has been the sole Chinese agent for drive units from ATD, Focal, Thiel & Partner/Accuton, LPG, Eton and Jordan. Volent the brand launched in 2006. The Paragon Series At the heart of the Paragon series of loudspeakers likes the 7 inch ATD-18W4004 Titanium sandwich mid/woofer. Also used by Magico's original Mini. Along with that, a twin ribbon tweeter previously seen on the JAS Orior and Orsa models. Volent's sister company LCY, makes the tweeter and indeed supplies it to JAS. Inside the Volent speakers, you will find high quality crossover components, wiring and 100% real sheep's wool stuffing for damping internal reflections, and extending bass response. Volent's Twin Ribbon Tweeter With convnetional ribbon tweeters, you get speed, air and detail. Its wonderful, when you are sitting with your ears at tweeter level, in the sweet spot. Most dome tweeters have great dispersion, but lack the speed and air of a ribbon. For the first time, with Volent's patented twin-ribbon tweeter, the characteristics of a ribbon's light mass is coupled with the wide dispersion of dome tweeters. Therefore, we get the ribbon's transparency, detail and fast speed and at the same time, minimize the need for toe-in and enjoy the benefits of wider soundstaging and a deeper 3D image. There is no other ribbon tweeter on the market that can match the Volent twin ribbon's dispersion. It really is the best of both worlds. The Midbass driver The Italian ATD 18AGTi4004 7" woofer is a very special design. Featuring sandwiched Titanium bonded to an inner layer of graphite, achieving the strong yet light ideal for exceptional detail, speed and transparency. The Volent Crossovers  Volent mounts their crossovers perpendicularly to the drivers, on a thick aluminum plate. This minimizes the microphonics that the capacitors are exposed to. The back plate sports a single set of binding posts, the Volent speakers are not bi-wirable.
The Enclosures The cabinets are elegant, and functional. The sidewalls are curve and taper to a narrow profile at the rear. this eliminates the buildup of standing waves inside the enclosure, and offers up a smoother response to the bass frequencies. The Finish All finishes are exeptional, imported from Italy. Truly high-end furniture grade that will be welcome in the most discriminating decors. The Packaging Let us not forget packaging. Volent packages their speakers in a manner that protects them on their journey. There is nothing more aggrevating than the anticipation of receiving a new set of speakers destroyed by damage as a result of cheap packaging.
