Tweaks & DIY

I'm always amazed by people who are constantly changing their amplifiers and speakers in pursuit of the ultimate system. My advice is to find out what you already have really sounds like. Then when you make a bigger change, you will really know what you are getting into. The only way to do that is to focus on removing noise, properly treating vibration, and creating a better environment for your components. Let them breathe. A modest system properly tweaked can sound way better than a really expensive one that is not set up well, and truly great sound can be had from higher end systems.
Bybee Purifiers
A mainstay in the TweekGeek arsenal. These devices, when attached to loudspeakers, AC inlets, analog & digital outputs clean up the sound in a dramatic way. Suddenly you hear instrumental decays, the acoustic space around the performers, and other subtle cues that just makes the music more "real". Don't believe it? Ask to demo the TweekGeek Bybee speaker tails and see for yourself. Bybee manufactures Plug and Play ready devices with Bybee purifiers inside, or you can purchase the raw devices and make your own.
Walker Audio Talisman
Magnetic fields and static electricity can greatly affect audio and video playback equipment and source material. The Talisman temporarily dissipates magnetic fields and static electricity allowing the phono cartridge or laser reader to transmit a purer, more accurate signal.
Use the Talisman to treat LPs, CDs, SACDs and DVDs. Distortion will be lowered and the sound will be more realistic. The soundstage will open up with improved depth and transparency. You will get more information without glare or harshness. Dynamics will improve and the harmonics will sound more natural. With video, you will get improved colors, focus and depth of image.
For digital systems, use the Talisman in combination with our Ultra Vivid for truly amazing results!
Walker Audio Reference High Definition links
First, a little common sense as penned by Srajean Ebaen ..." Should you spend $650 on two tiny minimalist gizmozoids if your speakers are worth $1,500? Should you go HDL if your electronics are still parked on a ringy metal contraption with glass shelves? If you haven't yet addressed an 8dB room-induced peak at 70Hz? The list of things you should probably do before considering HDLs is formidable. It's all about priorities. First get the biggest obstacles -- source resolution; speaker/seat alignment with regards to matched path lengths and room modes; amplifier/speaker matching; room acoustics; resonance control; power distribution; cable voicing -- handled so that the resolving power of your system is sufficiently keen to make more advanced tweaks obvious and worthwhile. Sufficiently dialed rigs become transparent to little changes.
This includes the occasionally profound effects which such apparently tiny changes may cause in excess of ambitious expectations. Reviewer raves over tweaks must always be tempered by context. Don't believe that such devices could substitute for fundamental steps that haven't been attended yet. First things first. Those are the basics. As such, the Reference HDLs certainly aren't basic. They are advanced après tweaks for after when everything else is in place. End of small print...." - SixMoons.com
What they do High Definition Links prevent RFI and very high frequency electronic noises (which are emitted from all electronics) from being transmitted to your speakers. They eliminate the unwanted noise from the signal path, while allowing the pure music signal to pass through unaffected.
The music will become more natural sounding. The electronic glare will disappear. The sound stage will open up to become better focused, more transparent. Harmonics will be cleaner, clearer and the dynamics will be faster and sharper, without harshness.
All parts in the High Definition Links are designed and built to proprietary specifications for Walker Audio. The wiring and the spade connectors are ultra pure silver. Free Walker Audio Ultra Vivid Kit with purchase!
