Reviews:
About the GS II
Made from Multi-stranded, annealed copper wire with a combined awg of greater than 8 gauge, the Kaplan GS II power cords can easily pass 250 volts at 60 mps continuously. The proprietary geometry is self-shielding and specifically addresses safety ground leakage. This is often at best an afterthought in other power cords but Paul Kaplan considers it essential for best performance in high resolution audio systems. The terminations are copper at both ends. All components used in assembly are evaluated for specific parameters, i.e. dielectric coefficient and dissipation factor, and used to guide listening evaluation design, and ultimately, final implementation.
Our recommendation
The best combination in our system was an SRC on our source gear, an SRC on the preamplifier, and HC's on the amplifier and power conditioner.
