My initial impressions have actually taken me by surprise. Upon first looking at the Nuforce interconnects, I was expecting yet another average sounding cable from some anonymous Chinese manufacturer. Don't get me wrong, the cable fit and finish were perfect, too perfect. My expectation was that cables that look like this generally underperform against the hand made, tech flexed cables from cottage industry cable manufacturers. Well, I was wrong. The first thing I noticed was the tonal balance from top to bottom. No objectionable frequencies jumped out at me, nor was anything bloated or recessed, just a nice sound, with a little warmth that would definitely complement the Nuforce amplifiers. Now mind you these were going up against some very expensive cables, 10 to 20 times the price of the Nuforce. They held their own very well. The only difference between them that I could detect was the ambient decays were a little easier to hear and lasted a little longer on the more expensive cables than with the Nuforce, and the Nuforce added a little warmth to the overall sonic landscape. It took me quite some time to notice this, and it was fairly subtle. I have had a lot of experience with many, many cables. The Nuforce in my opinion has increased the price to performance ratio with their Focused Field interconnects. I rate them a best buy, right up there with the Kaplan Power Cords and Harmonic Technology Pro 9 Reference speaker cables.
Nuforce Focused Field Interconnects. Warm, musical and a huge bargain. Nuforce has lowered the price of admission to high end audio performance once again. Focused Field Audio Interconnects (OFHC Copper, PEX dielectrics, 95% OFC Braid, 24Gold connectors)
