The High Resolution Technologies MicroStreamer brings you all the best features of HRT's groundbreaking Music Streamer products with the addition of headphone capabilities all in a miniature sized box that fits easily in your palm or pocket.
"...The HRT microStreamer has raised the bar so high in its category I hope it gets all the accolades it deserves. In uber-portable headphone amp/DAC combo solutions for the computer I can't think of another component outside the Audioquest Dragonfly, which to my ears doesn't have quite the dynamic punch of the microStreamer that even approaches the sonic performance of this miraculous little aluminum brick. It's like an audiophile’s reference-system-in-a-box. You have to hear it to believe it. ..." - Positive Feedback Online

The Burson Conductor is an upgraded spinoff of their award winning HA-160D headphone amp - USB DAC. The Conductor integrates the Burson Soloist headphone amp, HA-160D USB DAC, and a high performance preamplifier in one package. The sound is full, warm, dynamic and punches well above its weight (which by the way is VERY substantial). If you are putting together an entry level high-end audios system, the conductor makes a strong and versatile foundation. Pair with their Timekeeper amplifier for a compact, musical and powerful system.
The Conductor is not your average headphone amp with an added preamp function. Burson did not simply solder a piece of wire from the headphone output jack to create an unrefined preamp. Instead the preamp output has been extracted from the voltage gain stage before the current gain section, to create a preamp that reflects the full potential of their FET output stage, and their less is more philosophy. Coupled with the VOS, both performance and versatility are uncompromising.
At the heart of The Conductor is the ESS SABRE32 Reference DAC chip. With patented 32-bit Hyper-stream DAC architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology, the SABRE32 is one of the best and most expensive DAC chips in the world and is truly reference class .
While Burson is not the first or only manufacturer to implement the impressive SABRE32, they are unique in refusing to use Integrated Circuit based building blocks anywhere in our circuitry. Instead, Burson's unique philosophy aimed to unleash the full potential of this chip through the development of tailor designed discreet circuitry. They chose not to use their own award-winning discrete circuitry featured in the HA-160D. They went back to the drwaing board and developed a new circuit that is specific to the SABRE32 DAC. The end result is a true representation of what the SABRE32 DAC can do when pushed by team Burson.
The Headphone Amp
The Conductor also features our well regarded Soloist Headphone Amplifier. Burson implemented another 35W customised transformer to ensure that the Soloist circuitry is independent and optimised at all times. This is to ensure that its performance is exactly the same as the standalone Soloist.
Condition your components from within
The inspiration for the Tranquility Base came to Ted Denney when faced with the challenge of elevating the performance of computer audio to first match (and then exceed) the best performance possible from traditional state-of-the-art (and expensive) multi-box digital solutions.
As Ted saw it, the problem was simple: clean up inherently dirty power supplies and circuits found in computer audio front ends, and the deleterious effect they have on the music we listen to. In order to extract all the information hidden in Red Book and high resolution files, power supplies in digital and analogue sources would first need to be tamed while the signal is still in the computer! Simply filtering signal and electricity as it leaves a component only goes so far, and fails to address this fundamental distortion. Namely, the negative effects that closely positioned circuits, IC chips, circuit components (ie. resistors & capacitors), inductors, and power supplies have on the overall sound of music. By cleaning up the problem beforeit can affect the music, Ted discovered a fundamental way to improve music reproduction and bring it much closer to the live event; not only for digital based audio but for all audio components.
EM Cell Technology Breakthrough
Ted’s breakthrough came when he contemplated the nature of his patented EM Cell technology, as found in our PowerCell line of conditioners and Galileo Cable Cells. He reasoned that if he placed a variation of his EM Cell technology beneath a component, it would have a similar ability to condition signal while still in the component, as it does when conditioning AC and signal running through cables. This led to several new patents pending, and one of the most amazing new products to come to audio in over a decade: the worlds first Active isolation platform capable of conditioning signal while still in your stereo’s components!
Place any component atop a Tranquility Base and enjoy amazing improvements in audio and video quality. All Tranquility Bases are Active so you can turn their benefits on and off to A/B the improvements. The Tranquility Base can be tailored to suite your tastes with included silver, gray, and black Enigma Tuning Bullets. Enigma Tuning Bullets change the sound of your system from rich and warm to open and airy.
A significant opening of the sound field, a drop in the perceived noise floor, smoother more extended highs, tighter and more defined bass, improved layering of images in the sound stage, a dramatic decoupling of the sound field from the speakers and room. The Tranquility Basik allows listeners to hear deeper into recordings revealing intricate as well as subtle passages with never before attained clarity.
