"This was the flattest 40Hz - 200Hz response I have ever achieved in my room, with any speaker. The effect of this flatness was not subtle. With the LS3/5a, the focus, impact, and fundamental tone of plucked bass notesâ by Dave Holland, Charlie Haden, and Charles Mingusâ were dramatically improved. With the KC62 dialed in, midrange presence and spaciousness were improved in ways that made it easier for me to look into the soundspace and stay focused on performances. Instruments and voices sounded bigger, more physical, and easier to "see" with the KC62 engaged." - Herb Reichert, Stereophile

Small AND Mighty

The KEF KC62 subwoofer is incredibly compact and delivers the might and magic of deep, accurate bass for a thrillingly immersive music, movie and gaming experience. Created using innovative KEF engineering including the ground-breaking Uni-Core¢ technology, the diminutively sized KC62 features two 6.5inch force cancelling drive units powered by 1,000W RMS of specially designed Class D amplification.
Deep and powerful bass is no longer solely the domain of big-shouldered, massive subwoofers. KC62 is an ultra-compact subwoofer capable of delivering accurate, deep bass for an immersive music, movie and gaming experience at complete odds with its modest dimensions.

Our Take: The Sound

You've probably read it before, but this sub produces a shocking amount of superb quality low end for such a small enclosure. In fact, it is some of the best bass (35Hz and above) that we have heard. Granted, you won't be playing at rock concert levels, but what you will get is outstanding, visceral low end at moderate to loud listening levels. When used as a near field (proximity) subwoofer, music takes on a sense of depth and impact, even at lower listening levels.

Use Cases: Proximity Sub

Aside from the obvious uses as a music sub, desktop system sub, and sub for small to medium sized rooms, the KC62 makes a perfect proximity sub. What is a proximity sub? It's placing a subwoofer very closely (close proximity) to the listener. Not only does this offer a more even bass response, the proximity enhances the visceral impact of the bass, even at low volume.

Uni-Core Tech

Let's face it, nobody wants a room dominated by bulky speakers. But until recently, material science and the laws of physics meant that high output at low frequencies meant a large, often ported, box. The KC62's patent-pending Uni-Core¢technology revolutionizesthe traditional force cancelling design to deliver deep accurate bass from an ultra-compact cabinet. Combining both drivers into a single magnet system allows cabinet size to be reduced by over a third, while also increasing excursion to unlock exceptional output and depth.

EQ Presets

KC62 slips effortlessly into any environment or listening room, with the five pre-set Room Placement Equalization feature ensuring the same performance no matter where you decide to place it; in free space, next to the wall, in a corner, nestled within a cabinet or using the dedicated apartment mode.

Power

The KEF KC62's twin drivers are powered by 1,000W RMS (2 x 500W) amplifiers, providing exceptional levels of control and the ability to deliver sudden bursts of power when required. The powerful amplifier also helps overcome the physical limitations of a small enclosure.

Tech

An array of innovative technologies come together to ensure KC62's bass accuracy, including the P-Flex surround for precise driver movement and Smart Distortion Control Technology that reduces distortion, while performance is maximised via KEF's Music Integrity Engine.

Professional Set Up & Service

Not exclusive to the KF62, Tweek Geek offers professional subwoofer and speaker setup for local customers who buy through us. We will help you optimize your subwoofer for best performance in your room, and integrate the KF62 with your existing loudspeakers.
