The Bybee V2 Quantum Signal Enhancer (iQSE) is a small approximately 2″ long by 1″ wide by 1″ tall device that, while not the prettiest piece of audio gear you will ever see, is extraordinarily powerful in the positive sonic attributes it will bring out in your system. Orders of magnitude more powerful than the original Bybee Purifiers, or any form of Quantum Signal Enhancer that has come before.
They are small, and indeed delicate. But their size allows you to conceal them nearly anywhere. Inside your breaker box, inside components, underneath cables, on the walls behind pictures, etc. etc.
The V2 like it’s siblings the Quantum Signal Enhancer and Internal Quantum Signal Enhancer is activated by surrounding energy. But the V2 is different and much more powerful. So powerful that it has a dramatic effect on the soundstage and detail retrieval when not only placed on components, but also on your speakers and within the listening room.
Where the V2 Works (so far)
- On your loudspeakers – Simply stunning. More resolution, more coherance, the speakers just disappear! Place between mid/woofer and high frequency driver for more resolution. Place above the HF driver in addition and you will have greater image height, air and more detail. Place below the woofer and the lows and midrange open up further. NOTE: Placement on speakers is recommended when your speakers are along the long wall of your room or near the sidewall boundaries. Otherwise we recommend placing them in the listening room itself.
- In the listening room – The V2 is very powerful, and will expand the width, height and depth of the soundstage dramatically. Not just a little bit, and not in a subtle manner. Place the first V2 centered on the wall behind your speakers. Height of placement is important. As a general rule of thumb, the height of your listening position offers a focused depth, while higher placement offers more height and a more diffuse image.
- Circuit breaker boxes – Set on on top of the breaker box where the power comes in, and place on inside on the panel door near the main breaker and near the circuit breaker feeding your audio system. WARNING! Do not attempt to place the V2 inside the main cover of the breaker panel, it could kill you. Inside the door of the panel is fine.
- Power cords – Place 1 on the connector going in to the component for the most significant effect. Place another at the connector entering the wall or your power distributor/conditioner for another boost in performance. Placing one on the center of the cable will further improve the sound.
Combine with iQSE’s
Setting a V2 atop a V1 QSE or iQSE greatly improves the effectiveness of both devices.

I put the V2 on the IEC end of the power cable feeding my Devialet integrated and left it there for a few hours before listening. The most apparent effect is a more liquid or flowing sense to the music. Decays in particular just seem to slide down in a really natural way. The soundstage is also more 3D. The music sounds more like one thing than a collection of things. Also, any glare that was there, even in recordings that tend in that direction, seems to be gone.

I have been a staunch Bybee fan for over 14 years. Jack has invented and manufactured many products throughout the years. From power products to acoustical tweaks I have had great success with all of the Bybee products. The most recent Bybee V2 is better than all of the previous products I have owned rolled up into one. I was completely floored when I installed the first pair of V2,s on my speakers. Clement Perry’s recent review posted on Stereotimes provides a very detailed analogy of what the Bybee V2 is capable of, however from what I have.experienced since owning 8 V2’s is just a snap shot of what these tweaks have brought to my system. Most audiophiles aspire to get as close to the live recordings as possible. Since installing the V2’s that is exactly what I have experienced. If you’re entertaining thoughts of upgrading your speakers, may I suggest giving the Bybee V2’s a try. Start with 4 and see how you like them. These Bybee V2 are sensational. I have three of them. I started with one on the front wall in the middle of the speakers at 1.4 meters height. They provide greater realism, a more intimate sound, denser, more relaxed, with more dimension.
Then I added two more units to the front wall but this time in the corners at 1.4 meters too and I got more of everything. Raise the level of your stereo to a higher level, bringing it a little closer to your particular nirvana.

Having lived with the Bybee V2 for a week now, I had been convinced that these old ears had lost their capacity to hear subtle distinctions. I expected to be sending them back to you until yesterday. Then I had an experience analogous to looking at the sort of 3D optical illusion where you need to gaze just the right way to see the dimensionality.
At that point the various descriptors used in yours and other reviews made sense. Even then, I fear the language fails to capture the surprising sense of liveliness and felt sense of being in-person with the performance. It continues to surprise. When I removed the V2’s from the room the music became improbably flattened and then burst forth on their return. The other fascinating confirmation was thatI could indeed shape the sound in the room with them. This was their most intriguing feature and has kept me from being interested in treating components and power devices with them. I am well and truly shocked and very appreciative of Mike garner’s encouragement.

Problem: Harmonics sound compressed with halo of glare surrounding certain instruments/voices, especially female soprano opera or mass choir voices.
I followed a recommendation from MSB Tech AC Wiring whitepaper suggesting that constrained transient current delivery to power amps pollutes power by adding harmonics due to transient voltage sags which feeds front end components and also gets reingested to the amp. I upgraded to 240V and then from 10AWG to 6AWG on my dedicated 60′ AC feeds.
Both upgrades produced significant returns in naturalness. I then heard about the Bybee iVQE V2.
I started out with four inside the breaker panel and the glare started to diminish. Adding increments of two additional, there was positive coorelation with significant jumps in soundstage information, low level detail and naturalness that brings the musicians and recording space into my room. Expensive, as I now have 8 and would like to go for ten. But considering that my expensive system has never satisfied for 35 years and I am just now experiencing a sense of soul satisfaction just being in the event and experiencing a holographic space all around me, I have finally arrived at what I’ve always hoped for. Rereading my comments, they sound embarrassingly gushing, but they are absolutely true.

I have always been a proponent of Bybee products for years. The V2 Quantum Signal Enhancers are my favorite. I recently removed all 12 items from the walls as an experiment to see if I could do without them. After a week of absolute sonic depression, I had to reinstall and now I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY again. True Story.

These work great to open up holography – next to the AC feeds to my listening room, on the baffles of my Dunlavy SC VIs and even getting an additional 20% performance improvement placed inside the Mutec Ref 120 SE clock.

I’m not sure how these work, but they sure make my stereo sound a lot better. I’m having the the best results with one on each speaker jus below the woofer. I have two way floor standing speakers. The other six are spread around the room.

Wow, just wow. I don’t pretend to understand the science, but this is not one of those “I think it might sound a bit better” enhancements. The difference is profound. The best way I can describe it is that it makes everything sound more musical and “relaxed”…like the music is just flowing out of the speakers. Do yourself a favor nd try one of these.
